Wear

Due to a combination of properties, VULKOLLAN^® offers a particularly high resistance to wear and tear.

The wear resistance of VULKOLLAN^® exceeds the wear resistance of all elastic plastics and in wet conditions the wear resistance even exceeds that of steel!

Like all other properties of elastomers, the wear resistance of VULKOLLAN^® also depends on the working temperature and the optimal values are achieved up to operating temperatures of approximately 80 °C.

When this is taken into account, the very high wear resistance of VULKOLLAN^® can be optimally used in the design and production of elastic couplings, drive and steering wheels for forklift trucks, protective pieces in blasting cabins and wear plates for concrete processing machines.
